FAQ

  • What is Genius Learning Lab?

Genius Learning Lab is a unique learning institute that offers a specialized curriculum focusing on financial literacy, real estate, entrepreneurship, and legal knowledge for students in Grades 1-12. We go beyond traditional education to equip students with real-world skills through interactive, paper-based classroom activities.

  • How does the program work?

Our program operates on a flexible monthly membership structure. Students can attend up to two classes per week (recommended). There are no long-term commitments—students can sign up, pause, cancel, or resume at the beginning of any month. Each month focuses on a unique subject area, allowing students to choose specific topics that interest them or participate in the full curriculum to gain comprehensive preparation for their future.

  • How are the classes structured?

Our classes are structured with two grade levels per group (e.g., Grades 5 and 6), allowing students to learn alongside peers at similar developmental stages. Each class also has two levels, with the second level designed to teach more advanced versions of the topics covered the previous year. This approach reinforces learning by allowing students to revisit key concepts while building upon their previous knowledge, ensuring deeper understanding and retention of the material.Description goes here

  • What makes Genius Learning Lab different from traditional tutoring centers?

Unlike traditional tutoring centers that focus on academic subjects, Genius Learning Lab offers a curriculum that teaches practical life skills not typically covered in schools. Our program is designed by industry professionals and delivered by certified educators, ensuring that students receive high-quality, relevant education that prepares them for real-life challenges.

  • What topics do you cover in your curriculum?

Our curriculum includes financial literacy, real estate, entrepreneurship, legal awareness, workforce preparation, and more. We teach students about personal finance management, understanding credit and loans, mortgages, taxes, and the fundamentals of starting and running a business, as well as building and growing a successful career. These skills ensure students are well-prepared for both entrepreneurship and excelling in the workplace.

  • Why don’t you use iPads, laptops, or phones in your classrooms?

At Genius Learning Lab, we focus on the power of hands-on, paper-based learning to help students engage more fully with the material. We find that many students are easily distracted by electronic devices, so our classes provide an opportunity to step away from screens and focus on their studies in a more interactive and focused way. This approach also fosters deeper concentration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

That said, we do accommodate students with special learning requirements, where electronic devices may be used to support their individual needs, ensuring every student benefits from our curriculum.

  • Is there homework?

No, we believe in the effectiveness of hands-on, interactive learning during class time. All learning takes place through engaging, paper-based worksheets and activities in the classroom. There is no homework, allowing students to balance their learning with other commitments and look forward to our classes.

  • Who teaches the classes?

Our classes are taught by certified educators who are passionate about student success and delivering practical education. They are supported by a diverse advisory board that includes industry professionals such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, business professionals, educators, and parents.

  • How do I enroll my child?

You can pre-register your child by visiting our website and filling out the enrollment form. We are open for pre-registration from now until November 1st, with classes starting in January 2025. Spaces are limited, so we encourage early registration.

  • Where are your locations?

We are launching several locations and expanding within the coming months. Please check our website for the most up-to-date list of locations and find the one nearest to you. We would also love to hear your location recommendations, so please visit our contact page to share your thoughts with our team.

  • Where do you hold your classes?

We host our classes in library classrooms to introduce students to the wealth of resources that libraries offer—many of which go underutilized by today’s generation. By engaging with these modern spaces twice a week, students become more familiar with the library environment, encouraging them to explore the tools, amenities, and learning opportunities available. This connection can spark a lasting appreciation for libraries, enriching their educational journey well beyond our program.

  • Can my child join at any time?

Yes, our flexible monthly membership allows students to join, pause, cancel or resume at the beginning of any month.

  • What age groups do you serve?

We offer programs for students in Grades 1 through 12. Our curriculum is carefully structured to match each student's developmental stage, ensuring age-appropriate learning that is both challenging and engaging.

We are currently working on an 18+ curriculum designed like a "crash-course", focused on teaching young adults the necessary life-skills and financial literacy necessary for success!

  • How much does the program cost?

Our Early Bird Pricing is $149 per week, billed monthly, with no student initiation fee (regularly $249). Opt for annual billing and enjoy an additional month of classes at no cost—pay for 11 months, and receive the 12th month free. Spaces are limited, so we encourage early registration.

  • What is the class size?

We maintain small class sizes with a maximum of 15 to 20 students to ensure personalized attention and an effective learning environment. This allows our educators to focus on each student's individual needs and foster a collaborative classroom atmosphere.

  • What if my child misses a class?

If your child misses a class, they won't fall behind. Our curriculum is designed for seamless integration, and our educators will help them catch up during the next session. Additionally, since there is no homework, they won't have any backlog to manage.

  • How do you measure student progress?

We assess student progress through interactive activities and concept reviews during class time, focusing on ensuring that students can understand and apply concepts rather than relying on traditional testing methods. Additionally, we conduct an annual review and exam to evaluate overall retention and comprehension. Students are required to pass with a minimum grade to progress to the next level, ensuring they are well-prepared for more advanced topics in the following year.

  • Can parents be involved in the learning process?

Absolutely! We encourage parental involvement and are happy to provide regular updates on your child's progress. Our educators and management team are available to discuss any questions or recommendations you may have.
